Ford Flash Codes. (PATS - Passive Anti-Theft System) which will help diagnose an immobiliser issue. When an immobiliser fault is detected on a Ford PATS system, the red LED in the center of the dashboard will flash repeatedly. After approximately 1 minute, the light will cease flashing rapidly & pulse a series of times (similar to a morse code).
the immobiliser light flashes rapidly. Try googling PATS flash codes, or see: It may give a clue as to why the immobiliser has a problem. I do not see how it can be the ignition key switch itself. However the PATS sensor coil is usually fitted directly around the ignition key barrel. That could be dodgy, possibly.
